About Africa InSight
A 13-year journey
Registered in Nairobi in 2012, by 2018 Africa InSight had grown from a few people in a shared office into the largest provider of pan-African factual content for Kwese TV, a multi-billion dollar Multichoice competitor started by Strive Masiyiwa. Our shows, like BAQE (African basketball), Ball'n Africa, Xtreme Outdoors Africa and SHiFT Africa screened on multiple African TV platforms and channels (including Kwese), on US cable TV and on airlines. SABC, CGTN and many others subscribed to our news agency offering, Africa Today (2013-2018).
In 2019, we downscaled the business to focus on individual projects. During Covid we returned to our news roots with bird story agency, and today we use our vast experience to offer content strategy and content communications capacity across the continent. We are also helping a new generation of African content creators build an exciting - and responsible - content environment.
Connecting a Continent
We started Africa InSight to become part of a thriving African media ecosystem... with dreams of connecting a continent.
We're committed to that dream.
Here, you'll find details of our current team as well as our alumni and the many, many people who have interned or worked with us since we first opened our doors in 2013.

Our story has been one of constant learning, very hard work, and loads of fun.
From our base in Nairobi we have covered the continent and today we are largely cloud-based, with team members scattered far and wide, working virtually to achieve our goals.
